Josee Minero, Josephine Suryono, and Kelly Young have contributed significantly to AtWork’s growth and made impactful strides in the staffing industry, embodying the spirit of innovation and leadership.
AtWork’s female franchisees come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of experience to their businesses. They have been instrumental in expanding AtWork’s presence across the U.S., demonstrating exceptional skills in leadership, client service, and community engagement. Their success serves as an inspiration to aspiring female entrepreneurs and highlights the opportunities available within the franchising community.

Kelly Young: Doubling Down on Growth
Kelly Young relied on her 21-year staffing career to kickstart her entrepreneurial vision when she opened her first AtWork location in Las Vegas in 2017. Her experience managing 30 locations for a national staffing firm gave her the skills to run a successful business. Young won AtWork’s “Rookie of the Year” award, and she holds a sales record for first-time owners. Support from the franchisor is enabling her to pursue aggressive growth. She purchased existing AtWork locations in Arizona and Texas in 2019 and plans to add at least one additional branch in Texas this year. Following the pandemic outbreak, Young successfully pivoted her Las Vegas firm’s focus from the gaming industry to continue to hit sales targets.
“AtWork is a great partner. I know I have the full support of the AtWork team. I feel like they’re in it with me and they’ve been very helpful,” Young said.
Josee Minero: Pioneering Success in Staffing
After three decades of experience with a national staffing firm, Minero took a bold step into entrepreneurship by partnering with AtWork to open her own business. Her strategic decision was fueled by a desire for autonomy and a level of income potential that matched her extensive experience. Today, Minero successfully operates multiple AtWork locations in Southern California, Missouri, and Florida, having expanded her business footprint significantly since her start in 2017.
“To be a successful business owner, you must believe in yourself. When you are a good person, have good values, and do the right thing, you can be successful,” Minero said.
Josephine Suryono: Engineering Success in Franchising
Suryono’s journey from an immigrant pursuing a better education to a successful business owner showcases the entrepreneurial spirit she inherited from her mom who owns several businesses in Surabaya, Indonesia. With a background in engineering and a stint at Hewlett Packard as a business analyst, Suryono ventured into business ownership with the purchase of an indoor inflatable play and party franchise before transitioning to AtWork. The decision to open an AtWork location was driven by the desire for a business that aligned with her values and offered a more balanced lifestyle. Her two locations in Sacramento, California rely on professional placements and serve as an extension of her clients’ human resources departments.
“There are a lot of smart female business owners who are AtWork franchisees,” Suryono said.
